The Mountain of Dove Mountain
Wendy Lou
As soon as you ride over the mountain to Doves Mountain Farm, you will lose cell phone service and gain the feeling of home as you’re greeted by their Bernese Mountain Dog, Wendy Lou. The Doves’ farm has been in their family since 1950, and they were glad to switch to Farmer Focus and work with our farm team. Both Andy and Leona work on the farm, checking chickens and cleaning between flocks. They have found that farming is hard work but satisfying. When visiting the farm, you can easily stay for over an hour as they tell you stories about how their family farm has evolved over the years.
The couple enjoys serving the community through board roles with their local Farm Bureau and County Fair. In their free time, they enjoy going to antique tractors and quilting.
