About the farmer…
We’re excited to welcome our newest partner farmers, Matthew & Cam Herndon, owners of Spring Run Farm, LLC. Spring Run Farm got its name from the many natural springs that feed into the South Anna River and is where Matthew Herndon is continuing his family’s tradition of farming. Matthews family has been farming in Virginia for 11 generations and he currently works with his father and son to manage the farm. He enjoys planting crops in the spring and seeing his hard work pay off when fall harvest comes. Matthew knows the importance of raising animals in a humane and sustainable way, treating animals with respect and being mindful of using natural resources. He also appreciates the traceability that Farmer Focus offers and how it puts a face to the product that shoppers are buying. If he could let consumers know one thing it would be that the product they are purchasing was raised by him and his family in the best way possible. They have been treated well and cared for, and their purchase helps keep another family farm going.
