These chickens love climbing ramps. It is also their shade place in the field. Enrichments allow them to move and act natural keeping them healthy.
Look at All those chickens
Each chicken technically has 6 square feet of space; however, our farmers exceed that limit allowing way more space for roaming and growth.
Chicken Butts
Chicken butts do not look glamorous. There may not be as many feathers there or they are dirty from you know… Regardless, all birds are healthy!
Doors & Ramps
Access doors are alongside our chicken houses. Tim opens the doors for chickens to find the ramps he built for them so they can access the pasture.
Keeping it cool
This system is a giant A/C unit for the chickens. As water runs through and the fans kick on, cool air is flowing to regulate comfy temps indoors.
This family of nine shares the many responsibilities of the farm and loves working together. Tim takes the early bird shift at 5 am; Sasha checks the birds at 9:30 am and noon, and then the kids join her for a walkthrough in the afternoon to check on the flock. After one last check at 9 pm, the whole Rothwells call it a day.
When asked why they chose Farmer Focus, Sasha said, “We could only grow organic with high, ethical standards because that is how we live.” The family is passionate about knowing where their food comes from and raises their own meat and gets milk from the family dairy cow. They love being a large farm family, and when they are not farming, you can find them hiking with their horses, cooking, playing games, or reading.
